A technician who worked with Wi-Fi networks was charged with inappropriate behavior involving a female student at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), according to authorities.

A sudden event that occurred in the dormitory of a student on Thursday led to an unplanned protest during the night by the students from NIT, requiring intervention from the staff and authorities to calm the situation.

As a result of the disturbance, the pupils called for the apprehending of the suspect and also criticized what they called “stigmatizing the alleged victim.” The matter was dropped later today following the police’s announcement that the individual had been captured and an official issued a formal apology for the occurrence, according to the police.

“We need to find out how a man managed to enter the ladies’ hostel, even though one of the surveillance cameras was not operational,” Tiruchirappalli’s top cop, Varun Kumar, informed journalists.

The offender was apprehended right after the student who was impacted reported the issue to the police, he mentioned, also emphasizing that the security of women must be given top priority.

Female officers have been instructed to engage with female pupils to determine if similar situations have occurred previously, the State Protection officer stated.
