The movie star Tillotama Shome, who was on a morning flight with Air India from Mumbai to London on Sunday, has revealed that the journey was postponed for more than eight hours. On her social media platform X, or as it was previously known as Twitter, she told her supporters and followers about the delay. During the lengthy wait, she explained that the travelers weren’t given any updates or access to amenities.
Tillotama Shome noted, “AI 129, @airindia flight destined for Heathrow. Currently on hold, shifting from 5:15 am to 10 am. No updates or phone calls received from the airlines concerning the delay. Upon reaching AI, they can only express regret. Complete lack of responsibility and no proposed resolutions provided. India’s official airline.”
Additionally, she posted on Twitter, “@airindia @DGCAIndia AI 129, our flight to Heathrow has been postponed from 5:15 AM to 1:30 PM. There was no update about the delay. We received no calls, messages, or accommodations. No other flights were suggested. We’ve already checked in our luggage. Is this permitted? What compensation are we entitled to?”
In a different message, she mentioned, “A patient who is being treated has been waiting here since 2 am until 5:15 am for the flight to London. She has to travel to London for her treatment.”
The actor also inquired, “@airindia, why don’t you notify your clients about your flight’s delay, which is 8.5 hours and, interestingly, not a single message or call has been made about it.” “Why isn’t @airindia letting its passengers know that their flight is delayed by 8.5 hours?” one of her tweets questioned.
Tillotama features in the movie “The Fable,” helmed by Raam Reddy, that was showcased at the 74th Berlin Film Festival. It will participate in the high-status Meeting Point Official Selection Competition within the festival, which spans from October 18 to 26.
