According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple intends to make iOS 18.1 available to the public on October 28th, featuring several of the inaugural Apple Intelligence capabilities.
This deviates from earlier anticipations for an October mid-term release, according to Gurman, who explains that the delay is due to the company’s meticulous efforts to eradicate any software glitches and to ensure their private cloud computing servers can manage the influx of users from millions installing the update.
If iOS 18.1 is set to be launched as early as October 28th, it will allow iPhone 16 owners to access certain Apple Intelligence functionalities they have been eagerly waiting for, right around one month following the phone’s introduction. However, it’s worth noting that some of the features being included in iOS 18.1 might not be as desirable.
After the update is installed, users of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 will have the opportunity to explore the following capabilities:
