What got you interested in sports?

I started playing sports when I was eight years old, in 1995. At the time, I was in a boarding school in Ooty where there wasn’t much pressure on schoolwork and more on sports, art, and other activities outside the classroom. I played baseball, basketball, throwball, volleyball, and football, as well as any other sport that was available.

Do you like giving people lessons?

No matter how many people I train, I like to teach. I think that we should share what we know so that we can grow. I like it best when other people are in pain:).

How do you begin your day?

I eat home-made curd, dates, or bananas for breakfast. It all depends on what the morning holds. When I work out, I eat bananas and dates. I eat a yoga or nut bar with curd when I have to go to work. I am very moody and temperamental, so I meditate when I’m in the mood. But running is more meditative for me than anything else.

What are snacks, lunch, dinner, and breakfast?

Again, breakfast is a mix. Eggs, muesli, corn flakes, granola, yogurt, idli, fruit, and coconut water. Curry or dal is served with rice for lunch. For a good nap in the afternoon, Parsis need to eat rice. What’s for dinner depends on what’s being cooked at home: pasta, vegetables, beans, and chapati. I eat everything as a snack. Most of them were chocolates.

What about food add-ons?

I only use Unived’s vegan protein powder. I’m allergic to soy and lecithin, so I can’t eat regular protein powder, which is full of chemicals and poison. I also take the omega 3 tablet from Amway.

How do you keep in shape?

I run three to four times per week and lift weights twice per week. I like stability workouts and speed intervals when I’m running. People say I’m stupid, but they won’t know how stupid I am until they don’t try it:D.

Most of the time, they feel like they know too much. If you don’t have enough experience on the ground, no amount of information or books will help. Because of this, a lot of people get hurt.

How do you get your students to work?

I don’t keep people going because that’s not my job. It is my job to teach. To get something done, people have to be self-motivated. (I might sound a bit crazy, but that’s the truth.) It’s not fun to run because someone told you to or because you have to run to make someone happy or prove a point. You have to want something from the inside to enjoy it and be motivated by it. But when I work out with kids for an hour, I try to make it fun so they don’t get bored.
