The Minister of Civil Aviation, K Rammohan Naidu, announced on Friday that 40% of the construction activities at Bhogapuram International Airport in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh have been finished. Following his tour of the construction site in Vizianagaram, he displayed assurance that the project would be finished six months before the scheduled completion date.
The minister asked the officials and GMR team about the progress of the projects. He examined the construction on the runway, the main terminal building, and the air traffic control center.
Rammohan Naidu addressed reporters, stating that there were relentless efforts to finish the airport construction and kick off operations by June 2026. He mentioned that alongside the federal and state governments, the airport project is receiving robust backing from the local district government and the community residing there.
The Union Minister mentioned that he was assessing the advancement of the airport projects, drawing motivation from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He mentioned that during his last assessment, which was a month ago, approximately 36% of the tasks had been finished, and now, around 40% of the tasks have been completed.
Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, who is the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, has announced intentions to prolong the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN by an additional decade. Rammohan Naidu announced that the airport is being constructed to international benchmarks and according to the latest technology. He asserted that the government was completely dedicated to ensuring fairness for those who sold their properties for the airport’s development. The minister displayed assurance that the establishment of Bhogapuram Airport would lead to quick progress in the north Andhra region. He is convinced that individuals from around the globe would seek employment opportunities here.

He pointed out that a decade back, the nation had a mere 74 airports, but that figure has since increased to 157. He forecasted that this number could reach 400 in the coming years. He mentioned that Chief Minister Naidu was diligently assisting those impacted by floods in Vijayawada.
