India has emerged as a significant destination for foreign travelers from Iran. In the year 2023, Iran was graced with close to 5.9 million tourists from abroad, with an impressive rise of over 58,000 visitors from India, marking a 31 per cent jump from the previous year. This surge highlights the increasing curiosity among Indian tourists towards the distinctive features of Iran’s tourism scene, ranging from its ancient monuments to its lively cultural activities.

“The Amazing India Pavilion showcases the rich tapestry of our country’s distinct mix of traditions, history, customs, and contemporary travel possibilities. This pavilion is designed to spotlight a variety of travel options and places while providing a space for local tour companies to connect with people from other countries,” the announcement stated.

The pavilion also highlights the nation’s deep-rooted yoga tradition, attracting considerable interest from the visitors, it stated.

“This involvement highlights India’s strategic plan to boost its role in important global markets, aiming to substantially raise foreign tourist arrivals,” the ministry stated.

This year, India welcomed 9.24 million tourists from overseas, with 0.18 million of them coming from France. France has secured the 11th position as the top market for foreign visitors to India, according to the report.

The gathering attracts a broad spectrum of attendees including travel agencies, tour companies, airlines, hoteliers, cruise companies, providers of travel tech, tourism boards, and other professionals working in the travel and hospitality field, according to the announcement.
